Asphalting is somehow in my blood. It's a lot of fun. You really blossom when you're doing it. I like getting my hands dirty because I really enjoy working in construction.

Nadine
Company:
STRABAG

Road construction trainees

How does your working day as a road builder at STRABAG begin?

My working day always starts with a construction meeting. Then it's off to the warehouse to get the necessary tools such as shovels and brooms, depending on what's on the agenda for the day.

You seem to be a passionate road builder. Has that always been the case?

Absolutely! Even as a child, I spent a lot of time in the mud or on construction sites. I often rode in the truck or tried things out. Working independently is no problem for me, but it's great that my colleagues are always willing to help when I need support.

What qualities do you think are important to be successful in this field?

Ambition is definitely important. I want to do everything myself as well as possible. The ability to work in a team is also crucial, because we always work as a team on the construction site, even if everyone is working in a different position. We work together, exchange ideas and support each other.

You mentioned that asphalting is something special for you. Why is that?

Asphalting is somehow in my blood. It's a lot of fun. You really blossom when you're doing it. I like getting my hands dirty because I really enjoy working in construction.

Why should I choose a career at STRABAG?

At STRABAG, we don't just build roads, we build the future. Here you get the opportunity to develop, work independently and be part of a cool team.
