Linda's start at STRABAG

Linda is studying Online Media Management in Stuttgart. She became aware of STRABAG through a friend who also works for the company. And a lot has happened since then! She tells us herself what happened next:
How the application process went
"When I discovered the job advertisement on the STRABAG careers page, I knew immediately that it would suit me! Just a few days after my application, I received an invitation to an interview. I was a bit nervous at first, but the open atmosphere quickly took the edge off. The recruiter, the team leader and a colleague from the department were all there and they were all really nice. I was given a clear insight into the tasks and day-to-day work.
As I had already done a lot of research into the subject beforehand and was really keen on the job, I was delighted to be accepted! After that, everything went smoothly: Clarifying the general conditions, going through the forms, signing the contract. And from then on, I was looking forward to my first day at work!
My first day at STRABAG
Even before I started, my team leader gave me important information about the team and an induction plan. So I was able to prepare myself well. On my first day, my buddy gave me a warm welcome and showed me my workplace. During the tour of the building, I got to know the team and other colleagues. Then it was time to set up my workstation. The clear process descriptions helped me to log in to the systems quickly.

After the lunch break, which included a round of Mario Kart, I started on my first small tasks. In between, I occasionally had meetings with colleagues or my team leader. We talked about my start, my interests and expectations and about future tasks.
I also quickly got to know the team and their tasks. All in all, it was a great start and I felt I was in good hands.
My first week at STRABAG
My second week at STRABAG

The exchange with colleagues from other countries was particularly exciting this week. Everyone was open and friendly, and I realize how enriching international collaboration is. My daily routine is also becoming clearer and clearer. I'm getting a feel for which topics are important and how I can structure my day well.

After week 2, I can say that I have arrived. Because I'm taking on my own tasks, finding my place in the team and my day-to-day work is getting structure. And the best thing is that I feel like I'm not just working here, but that I can really help shape things."
