Probably not everyone can imagine what your job entails. What exactly do you do as an Employer Brand Manager?

Svenja: One of my most important tasks is to make the heart of a company visible both internally and externally. This involves aspects such as the corporate culture, the shared values and the working atmosphere. Honesty rather than window dressing is crucial here, as this is the only way to create a lasting impact. In my role as Employer Brand Manager, I work with the team to develop and position the employer promise. In other words, the characteristics that make the company special as an employer and manage its credible communication both internally and externally.

What do you particularly like about your job?
Svenja: I really appreciate the fact that I can shape and achieve so much here, for example in the development and communication of our positioning as an employer. My work is both strategic and creative.

  • Everyone deserves a job that suits them.

What motivates you in your day-to-day work?

Svenja: The collaboration with my team and the diverse, international exchange with colleagues really enriches my work. The fact that I can create real added value in the process also motivates me. My main driving force is to find the right people for STRABAG by communicating what makes us an employer in an authentic and targeted way. Because every person deserves a job that suits them.

What are the three most important skills for your job as Employer Brand Manager?

Svenja: Clearly empathy, because in employer branding the focus is on people. Only those who really listen and are able to put themselves in different perspectives' shoes can develop a credible employer brand. In addition, strong communication skills, because employer branding thrives on authentic, targeted and consistent communication. And last but not least, strategic thinking, because a convincing employer profile is not created by chance, but requires clear goals, a well thought-out concept and the ability to keep an eye on the big picture.

A more general question: what does "Let's progress" mean to you?

Svenja: "Let's progress!" is our employer promise and at the same time an appeal: let's move forward together. This "progress" is deliberately kept open, because progress can mean something different for everyone. Progress can mean advancing one's own development, implementing new ideas or taking innovative paths together. For others, it stands for social responsibility or the further development of our industry.
It complements our company claim "Work On Progress" in a meaningful way. While "Work on Progress" expresses our entrepreneurial aspirations, "Let's progress!" underlines the shared perspective as an employer with a focus on the people at STRABAG.

Thank you for the exciting insights into your work and have fun and success in the future!
