All the strings in her hand: Assistant at STRABAG BMTI
Stefanie's path at STRABAG begins directly after her studies, where she initially works in process management and later heads a small technical team at BMTI. in 2017, she took over as assistant to the head of the central division for four months.
The successful work during this episode ensured that the two stayed in touch when Stefanie returned to her original position. Even after relocating the center of her life in the meantime, having two children and switching to part-time work, there was a desire to continue the successful collaboration.
An individual solution for a special situation
But how do you combine challenging work with private life in this situation? The combination of the range of tasks and the great distance between home and work calls for an individual solution.
The work from the home office set up for this purpose is supplemented by periods of presence in the office, with a colleague at the location taking on the daily tasks during her absence, while Stefanie concentrates on the strategic and planning part - such as board proposals, presentations, preparation and follow-up of various meetings and the planning of divisional events. The close coordination required for her work with her line manager and colleagues takes place digitally outside of the office.
Challenge and motivation
Such a constellation can of course be challenging if, for example, important tasks arise spontaneously. From Stefanie's point of view, a certain amount of flexibility is required here, especially when traveling to the various meetings and events, which she also has thanks to the support of her family.
Her motivation also plays an important role: "My work as an assistant to the head of the central division is incredibly varied due to the mix of day-to-day business and project work in the strategic area."
