Why is the Woodsmith Project so exciting?

At the Woodsmith Project, we are building a 37-kilometer tunnel for a world-class mineral transport system.
It’s an incredibly exciting project, and we’ve already set a world record with a single tunnel boring machine driving over 25.8 kilometers.

What does a Quality Manager do?

As a Quality Manager, I make sure everything is done the right way.
I help ensure that the tunnel is safe, strong, and fully operational. My work mainly involves auditing construction activities on site to make sure they meet STRABAG’s quality standards and inspection plans. I also review quality documents, track project progress, update our quality dashboards, and visit the site regularly.
When something goes wrong, I take the initiative to identify the root cause and implement effective solutions to restore safe and reliable operations.

  • For me, building progress means always looking for ways to improve, whether in quality processes or overall performance.

What is it like to be a woman in engineering and construction?

As a woman in a male-dominated field, I’ve learned how valuable role models and support can be.
I find meaning not only in delivering high-quality work, but also in mentoring and supporting other women in engineering and construction. Knowing that I can continue learning, growing, and improving gives me confidence and excitement for what the future holds.
