Even before their first day of work, our apprentices can feel that they are in good hands at STRABAG, which is very important to us. After all, it is precisely during the first few weeks of their working life that young people learn a lot of new things and can feel overwhelmed.

One thing is clear: companies and institutions that train young people in a wide variety of apprenticeships assume an important educational and socio-political responsibility. This is why the City of Vienna, the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Austrian Industries, the Federation of Trade Unions and the Vienna Chamber of Labor have created the quality seal.

For the award, the jury not only evaluates the plan and the quality of the apprenticeship as well as the success rate in the final apprenticeship examination or successes in competitions. Communication with the apprentices, their parents and the vocational school as well as the quality of the trainers are also closely examined.

Finally, the "TOP Apprenticeship Company" quality seal is awarded to exemplary training companies with a apprenticeship location in Vienna.

What makes STRABAG a "TOP Apprenticeship Company"?

For years, we have expanded our vocational school and construction site apprenticeship system to include the construction academy and the Ybbs campus. In addition: "Every year, we hold employee appraisals with the apprentices and organize team events - from apprentice days and communication training to LAP preparation. We offer bonuses to motivate particularly committed apprentices. We enable apprentices to take part in competitions such as AustrianSkills or EuroSkills," says apprentice representative Sabrina Jaros, "We are taking the step towards digitalization and provide apprentices with an online construction diary - all this and more makes us a 'TOP Apprenticeship Company'."
