From medical informatics to STRABAG IT

I found my way into the construction industry via a career change. Originally, I came from the field of medical informatics, but due to a change of interest during my studies of business informatics, I decided to change and take the position as project manager in IT at STRABAG.

The internationality of STRABAG IT and the many software products developed in-house always produce exciting and challenging projects and offer a lot of variety. What I found very nice and remarkable even back then is that at STRABAG you are given the opportunity for your own further development and that motivation takes precedence over your CV.

Just four years after joining the Group, I was offered the position of team leader. I was very pleased about this opportunity and, above all, the recognition of my work.

IT project management at STRABAG has only been an independent team since 2020 and is therefore still quite young. Today, it is the largest in the entire software development department, with a total of eleven colleagues. Even though the majority of our team is still predominantly male, I feel very comfortable here as a woman and as an employee and I receive a lot of appreciation.
